Bo seems to have had a successful run of shows this past week. He began at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, then on to Showcase Live in MA, and finished up the weekend in NYC at B.B. King's. Of the three, I think those attending said that the one in NYC was absolutely the most rockin', hot show. Not that the other two were bad; the B.B. King's show just had that special something that is present at some performances. It's intangible, but those who have been at one of these particular shows know exactly what I am talking about. Atlantic City House of Blues and Evans, GA are two that stand out in my mind where Bo was...smoking hot, for lack of a better term.
Last night Bo did a show at Ram's Head in Annapolis, MD. He has done three shows there previously (I attended one this spring) and apparently they love him there. I haven't heard a whole lot about the show last night from anyone except for the expected comments of how good he was. He is unfailingly good each and every time he performs. I credit this to his dedication to his craft and his dedication to his fans.
He did not do meet and greets this time around. Not sure why, but he must realize that the way he got close to us last year has gotten the Peeps a wee bit spoiled! Not that anyone complained that he didn't do them this time. Everyone wants what is best for him, and if it's best for him to skip the meet and greet and rest or do interviews or whatever, so be it!
If you have never seen Bo live, you might not realize what a humble guy he is. He always acknowledges the venue, the security, the staff and the fans. That is appealing to me and I guess that's one reason I've hung around like I have. I've always said he'd have to tell me he hated me to my face to get me to quit being his fan! LOL, can you imagine? I mean Kevin is quite the character, but I don't think even he would do that!
Tomorrow night starts another two show run in CT and NY, then he's off to do shows with Lynyrd Skynyrd in various states, then on out to the west coast in the fall.
On August 8th he is going to be hosting the Annual Armed Forces Poker Run & Silent Auction in Pelham and I hope to be able to get down there to see him. I'm still not sure about the two Skynyrd shows I have tickets for; I guess I'll know more after Friday's doctor appointment.
Bo tweeted today and said he was going to NYC to be on Fox News. I haven't heard what time or show he's going to be on yet. I sure hope I know in time to catch it. He was also interviewed on Sirius XM Radio. Itswits did a lovely recap at bb.com. He was asked the usual questions about Idol, his trips to Afghanistan and Iraq, etc.
One other thing that happened today is that I got an email from fanclubhouse and since I purchased the Long Road Back ringtone, they are sending me an autographed picture of Bo. Hmm. I guess they are doing this for everyone who bought the "bundled" LRB before they unbundled it. I'm not sure of the reason behind it, but I'm happy to be getting another pretty autographed picture of Bo. :)
And lastly, plans are underway for the bike ride and concert in Helena that is to take place on September 26. As soon as I know any details I will pass them on.
