Concert in the Quarry

Group shot out by his bus. All are peeps except some unknown family who jumped in the picture- 3 kids, mom and dad.
Bo is doing his Zannel thing here. I wonder what happened that it never posted?

Robin's beautiful flowers from Bo.

Last weekend I headed over to Suwanee, Georgia, to a Bo concert that was being held in a rock quarry. I was traveling with three dear friends and we always have the most wonderful time!

Our first stop was in Conyers, GA at the Granite Mountain Harley Davidson store. Bo was riding in a charity ride and it was beginning there. We arrived and saw several Peeps standing outside and we visited a minute. Bo was inside shopping, and we made our way in and it was fun to watch him purchase a new jacket, boots, and other goodies. Everyone left him alone and as he passed by me he said, "BOLISA!" and I briefly exchanged a couple of pleasantries with him. He's always so sweet to all of us.

Outside the motorcycles were lining up. Bo was riding this purple one, even though it looks blue in the pictures. He posed for pictures with the bikers and at one point I heard him say, "Oh yeah, I've got to do Zannel!" He got out his phone, handed it to a guy and proceeded to say he was about to start his ride and he said something about us Peeps. We all cheered (we were standing behind him) and he sent the message in. Something must have goofed because that post never showed up on Zannel. Disappointing!

A couple of girls were going to ride as passengers on Harleys, so they were all excited. Soon it was time for them to leave and they zoomed away. My group got in our car and headed to the hotel, not expecting to see the motorcycles again. Unfortunately, that was not to be the case. All of a sudden traffic came to a dead stop and we saw lots of flashing blue lights ahead. We freaked. Debbie said it was motorcycles, so we made our way up an access road and jumped out of the car. Three bodies were lying on the pavement, one was our friend Robin. The ambulances had not arrived yet and the bikers were comforting the three and making them lie still. They were taken away and all of us were terrified. The rain had caused a motorcylce to slide and it caused a chain reaction. But they ended up with injuries that were not life-threatening. Robin had a concussion and broken ribs, and the other two guys had concussions, broken ribs, a broken collar bone and a hand or elbow injury.

There was an atmosphere of sadness, but we continued on as Robin insisted and attended the concert. We were bussed down into the quarry, which was just beautiful. It had been postponed due to rain but it cleared up and we had our catered dinner at our table right on the very front!

During the first act, a couple of ladies came from Bo's bus and handed me a bouquet of flowers from Bo to Robin. They were beautiful stargazer lilies, roses, and other white flowers in a beautiful etched vase. He also sent for us Peeps who purchased the sponsor table and we had a group photo made with him out by his bus. He was so funny and sweet and I was able to give him the cookbook I had been working on since December. He was also presented with a plaque with all of our names on it and the ad we had placed in the program.

The show was rocking! I was on the front row standing to he right side of the stage. Bo came out singing "Dreams" and proceeded with lots of other favorites from See The Light. He stopped in the middle of the show and said he wanted to say a prayer for the injured riders and he did, right there on stage. It was a sweet prayer and very heartfelt and it touched my deeply that he would take the opportunity to do that publicly. I love that man.
We saw him briefly afterwards and he was sweet and charming as usual. We boarded the bus after we told him we'd see him in June! I can't wait! Only a month until CMA week!!!
