Monday- will he make an appearance online today?

Ever since the CMA Fest, Bo has been online just about every day. He has posted in the forum and even talked to people on the phone...including lucky ME! That was last Thursday I believe. I'll recap the conversation in just a minute. First I want to talk about City Stages. CRAP. I KNEW it. I just KNEW it. Bo was there. Bo sang with Skynyrd. I KNEW it was going to happen! Jimmy and I had discussed going down to see the Doobie Brothers and Skynyrd, but the weather was blisteringly hot, and he hates hot weather, so he didn't want to go. But I knew in my heart of hearts that Bo Bice would be there. He and his family seem to be in Birmingham/Helena a lot, and I figured since it was Father's Day they would for sure be there. And I was right! I just hope somebody got some pictures and video!

Now, about the conversation with Bo. I recapped in my other everyday life blog, but I feel I want to do it again here, where Bo lovers can appreciate my excitement!

As always, I had a computer tab open to bb.com. Between writing checks and such I would refresh the page to see what was happening. (My friend Deb says I don't do "Jack Shit" at work...I beg to differ...I am an expert at multi-tasking!) Bo came online and was posting back and forth with people about Bandbox, a new feature on his website where we can purchase bootlegs that Bo himself puts there. Everyone thinks it's cool, and I read along and suddenly after I refreshed, there was a post that said the first three people to call SayNow would get to talk to him live. So, I had my iphone in my pocket, I grabbed it out and pressed SayNow's number, which I had saved under "Bo Bice". ;) Pretty clever, huh? Anyway, I raced toward the back door of the library where I could get better cell reception. A recorded voice came on the line informing me that I was next in line to talk to my party. Huh? Me?

I went outside and closed the door behind me. I heard something on the line and I said, "Hello?" Bo said, "Hello" and I said, "Hi Bo, this is BoLisa". He laughed and said, "Well, hello Lisa, that sure was fast (or quick or something like that)!" He probably laughed because he knew it was going to be one of us "dedicated" fans, as he likes to call us...BWAH! Bo said he had seen a lot of people online down there (at the bottom of the page, I suppose) and he thought he'd do this. I was the first person to get through. He said he wanted to keep in close contact with his fans. Whoo, baby, this was an awesome way to do it! My heart was racing, but soon afterwards I calmed right down. He is SO easy to talk to and puts you at ease immediately.

He told me to make sure and spread the word that this was REAL and not a recording and I assured him I would. I can't remember exactly in what order we talked about things...I was kind of in a haze, if you can understand! I do know I told him I was at work and shouldn't be on the internet, but oh well! Four of us got through to talk to him and guess what? All four of us were at work! Work life involves the internet if you are in an office and like I said, multi-tasking is quite easy.

About staying in contact with his fans, he said that he isn't doing things on a huge scale, he's playing small venues, and he wants to be a good husband and daddy. I took that to mean that with small venues he can be closer to us and he can also have time to be with his family if he tours on a smaller scale. I told him that I sure did admire him for that. He went on to talk about how sad it is that people with #1 videos are beating their wives/girlfriends and such. I told him that it may seem stupid, but because he is such a good husband and daddy made me want to support him even more; it is important to me for some reason.

Then he said something about listening to radio-country radio-not because he was in Nashville. Then he said something that I've known all along. I can't remember the exact words, but the meaning is as clear as a bell. He said something to the effect that he didn't know what the deal was with people about him being country, that he's always been country. It almost sounds as if Mr. Bice has been reading posts by some people who just go apoplectic when they think of him as a country artist. Good grief. What do they think Southern Rock is? Yes, he rocks it out but he fits right in today's country market. I'm so proud of him for settling into that niche. He's such a well-rounded person that he seems to enjoy all kinds of music. Why can't people accept him for what he is? A rose by any other name and all that, you know? I hope he finds widespread success in that market.

Anyway, we started to say our goodbyes so he could take his other calls and I told him that my trip to CMA last week was something I had always wanted to do. I told him that my husband gave the trip to me as my gift for our 30th wedding anniversary which was on the 16th. I also got out that I remembered their anniversary because mine is the 16th and theirs is the 15th. He was so sweet and thanked me for coming that week. He said that it was sweet of Jimmy to do that for me and for me to be sure and give him love for letting me come and spend the week with him. THEN MY PHONE DROPPED THE CALL!! I would have crapped if it had dropped earlier! I am so thankful that I had such a nice chat with Bo.

Going back to the forum I read a post that said, "Bolisa Got The 1st Call! So I Lost U, I didn't hang up I promise." How sweet; I know he didn't hang up on me! And looking back I also read that I was supposed to ask a question! LOL, I didn't even read that far before I grabbed my phone and started dialing! I don't really care; I enjoyed just chatting with him! He posted at 10:07; my phone says I called at 10:08 and he posted the disconnected post at 10:15, so you can see, I got to talk about 6 or 7 minutes with him. Awesome.

Maybe he'll do that quite often and give a lot of his Peeps the opportunity to speak with him one-on-one. He's a keeper. I <3 Bo Bice!
