Our last day in Nashville...what a bummer. But we were all revved up because Bo was doing a show at 11, so we packed the car and headed downtown. Debbie's GPS took us all the way down to the other side of town to get off the interstate and we just couldn't understand it!
We found the public parking behind the Sommet Center and I was indecisive about taking my picture of Bo that I had taken earlier in the week of him fishing. I loved it and really wanted him to sign it. I decided to go ahead and put it in my backpack, hoping that I'd get a chance to see him after the concert. We climbed out of the car and as I was discussing the picture, I spotted Bo coming across the parking lot one lane up from us! I did something I always said I would NEVER do...I hollered at him. I flew up to where he was and he stopped. I asked him if he'd do me a favor and sign my picture and he was really sweet and signed it. The rest of the girls had caught up by then, so we all walked across the parking lot, street, and up the block with Bo. Diane and her sister were with us and they stopped and had more pictures made with Bo. I rarely get one when we're out anywhere; I just feel weird, but Diane only sees him once a year and he was so sweet last week to offer pictures to her every time she was around him. Bo had told us as we walked that they were recording this concert for bandbox. I told him we could just put our cameras away! I also told him that I was seeing Skynyrd for the first time with him this summer. He said the guy who played bass on his latest recordings was now playing bass for Skynyrd. His name is Robert. Now Debbie says Bo hugged all of us as he went backstage. Uh, I'm blanking out here! I guess I was on sensory overload.
We got around to the front of the stage and Linda had saved the four of us seats. Deb and Sherry had left to go home already. We were right on the front row. Boo-ya!
Soon it was time for the show to begin and the man introduced Bo, saying Country Music was welcoming him with open arms. I think that's just cool!
Bo came out onstage, looking all hot as usual in nice-fitting jeans, a tee shirt tucked in behind the buckle and wearing shades. He sang several songs and man, did he make some awesome faces! The crowd just ate him up! Toward the end of the set he tore off the security pass on his pants and tossed it offstage, and my fingers almost got it! All too soon the show was over and he said he'd see us next year. You better believe it, baby! I'm SO there!
I asked a guard to get the sticker and he hem-hawed around. Cathy tried to get it with my backpack and ended up tossing my backpack over there, too! The man came, handed me back my backpack, and said he couldn't give me the sticker. I told him I wasn't going to use it, that I was going home. He said he'd have to ask the stage manager and somebody blurted out that Bo threw it to me (well, he did throw it down in front of me...LOL) and he stuck it together and begrudgingly handed it over!
Bo was signing autographs at the fence. I waited and watched him and talked to Abbi. She's such a sweet, pretty girl and we told her we were glad to see her up there with Bo. She said to make sure and tell Bo!
When it kind of thinned out, I walked up to the fence and said, "I hate to bug you, but I really wanted you to sign this shirt." He said, "Oh, it's a CMA shirt" and he signed it on the shoulder. Again, I could have gotten a picture, but I chose not to. I don't want him to think I'm a freak!
Debbie and I went down to the end of the fence and Caroline and the babies were in a tent. She waved at us and gathered them up and came out to talk to us. Those kids are so cute! Aidan's eyes are to die for. He was pushing the stroller around and had on little red crocs that had that car from the Cars movie on them. He was shy and hid behind Caroline's skirt when we talked to him. Little Caleb was all smiles! So adorable! Aidan came flying out with the stroller and the security guard had to help him before it crashed into the barrier! Caroline told him to "settle down". LOL, Caroline has her hands full. I know EXACTLY how she feels. Her kids are approximately the same age difference apart as mine.

Bo left, we told him bye, and then all of us got together for a group shot. Don saw what we were doing and came and took the camera from Melanie and took the picture for us. I really like him.
Then it was over. :( Debbie said she wasn't ready to leave, so she and I, Sue, Cheryl and Jen walked down to the Spaghetti Factory for lunch. It was really good and we had a nice visit. All to soon it was time to go. Debbie and I got in the car and headed back to Alabama. We met Jimmy in Athens at Starbucks and Debbie went on to Birmingham and I headed home to Albertville. It was such a marvelous week. I haven't done it justice in my blog. I can't wait until next year!!
