Have you ever typed an entire post and have it disappear? I had a nice blog written and it's GONE!
I'll try to remember...
I'm not into the Obama hoopla, so I'll write about another Bo show.
Chattanooga, TN in March of 2006 was a really great show. I arrived at the venue at noon, the second in line. It was freezing cold and we huddled together and that day I got to know some people who are now my good friends. When the doors opened they made us enter in an orderly fashion, ten at a time. They lined us up in front of these big double doors. When everyone was packed into that area, they opened the doors and it was a free-for-all, a race up a set of double staircases, a turn to the left and then the final rush to the stage at the far end of the venue.
I made it to the "front"- the security had sectioned off an area for children and that was just fine with me. Little did I know that a lot of the "children" were nearly 6 feet tall! I was not pleased.
The show itself was marvelous. Bo was glorious in jeans and a black tee shirt. He sang and danced and whirled and we were awestruck. He performed a beautiful version of Sinner In A Sin.
Afterwards a DJ had arranged for me to meet him and he took me in to see Bo after the meet and greet was over. I had emailed him and told him about the book that bicesquad.net had put together for Bo and he said he'd get me in to give it to him.
After the last of the meet and greet people had gone through, the radio people let me go in next. Bo said, "It's good to see you again!" and I was thrilled because he remembered me from Cleveland the month before. When Bo realized that the book I laid in front of him was FOR him, he grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me to him and we exchanged kisses on the cheek. Then the guy snapped our picture and as you can see I was beaming with happiness. It was a good night!
