Saturday but I ain't in no park

Lovely grammar, huh? It's been a long time since I've thought about Chicago and the song Saturday in the Park. I even saw them in concert once when I was in high school.

The past couple of days have been stressful. I won't go into details, but I hope all the drama is behind me. I despise drama. BoLand is my happy place! I've lived in BoLand since 2005. How much joy I would have missed if I hadn't moved in! I'm here to stay.

I feel like talking about Bo's voice right now. The man never fails to blow me away. He's a small man, but what a big voice! Last year at Lecia's party I had not seen him perform in almost four months. When he opened his mouth and out came the first words of Drift Away, it was like a physical blow. He literally blows my mind. The same thing happened in Myrtle Beach. It had been a couple of months since I had seen him and whammo, he did it again. I mean I know how awesome he sings; I've heard him a jillion times. But the power and beauty of that voice live is a sound to behold!

And Bo's voice is variable. It can be soft as a feather and as powerful as thunder. He caresses his words in songs like Lonely Man. He growls out Can't You See and it leaves me literally breathless. He has an amazing instrument.

Sometimes it may seem that all we fans notice is how handsome he is- and he IS handsome. But that voice is magical. It draws me in every time like a siren's song.

After his amazing talent first grabbed my attention, I noticed what a unique individual he is. He was born in the wrong decade! I think that's one reason so many of us children of the 70's are drawn to him. He's a kindred spirit in a younger body.

He's not perfect; Kevin rears his head and it makes me smile, but he is a good, tender-hearted man who treats everyone "like he would like to be treated". He has done more for us fans than I've ever heard of any performer doing. He is patient and is funny and gracious to us as we go through line after line of meet and greets. He has shown me personally great kindness and compassion when my mother-in-law was killed. I've seen him listen intently and saw him hold on tightly as a friend poured out her heart to him and told him how Tombstones Don't Talk Back helped her say what she wanted to say to her dying father. He has tenderly held the hand of a child in a wheelchair and smiled that sweet smile at him. Bo has laughed as he watched us all act silly as we were waving one hand in the air with our other arm wrapped tightly around our friends during the encore of a show. He can be dorky and goofy and he shows us he's just an ordinary Joe.

And then there's the icing on the cake. His drop-dead gorgeous looks have made many of us go brain dead when in his presence! I've never seen bluer eyes. I've never seen such a sensuous pouty mouth or sweet smile. His long hair is something that dreams are made of. God, I sound ridiculous, but it's all true! I've always heard the saying, "Pretty is as pretty does" and I think that he's just one pretty package, both the wrapping and the content inside.

Ok, that's enough gushing for one sitting. Either you get it or you don't. I get it. And I'm glad.
