Where did that week go?

It's been over a week since I've been here. Now that just isn't acceptable. I've been busy with work and also busy working on the Bo Peeps Virtual Cookbook. That is a project that I am thoroughly enjoying. Hopefully I'll be finished in March.

The latest news in the Bo world is that he is going to be appearing at an invitation-only event at Disney World in Orlando on Thursday, February 12. He will be at the premiere of the American Idol Experience attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios along with former Idol winners and contestants David Cook, Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks, Carrie Underwood, David Archuleta, and Justin Guarini. I look forward to seeing photographs and video of this event and I sincerely hope that Bo gets to take along his family. Aidan is just at the right age to enjoy the park.

Everyone is counting down the days until the first acoustic concert in Sellersville, PA. Thankfully I will be at that show and I can't wait to hear what Bo has in store for us. I remember how exciting it was when we first heard American Blood, I'm Gone, and Ain't Gonna Die in Nashville in 2007.

Bo had been terribly ill and it had been a long dry spell for us in the fall of 2006. When this show was announced, Peeps from near and far made plans to attend. What I didn't plan for was tearing a muscle in my back! Like a dummy I tried to lift a huge monitor at work and I knew immediately that I was in big trouble! There was no way I was cancelling my trip, so I went to the doctor for lots of medicine and went on my way with my friend Debbie.
To say I was high as a kite is an understatement. I sat in a lawn chair waiting in line for the door of the Exit/In to open, but after that I was on my feet from about 6 until after 2 in the morning. Thank God for dope.

Bo came onstage looking relaxed and well. What a relief! He had Chris Tompkins, Gary Nichols and Thomas Lee with him and the show was so much fun. I've always said that it was just a lovefest that night. The joy in the room was palpable. When he sang The Real Thing, the audience of Peeps was singing so loud that he just quit singing and let us carry it, smiling like the cat who caught the canary.

Afterwards Bo had the first of his many open meet and greets. He was at the top of some stairs and I meant I was going to climb up there to see him if it killed me! I made it (thank you again, dope) and he greeted me with, "Man, I've missed you guys!" Well, according to witnesses, I acted a bit spacey but that's ok. I got to see my Bo up close and personal. Besides, I've acted stranger in his presence at times I'm sure, dead cold sober! LOL

When we left the building it was going on 3 in the morning. Bo was back, better than ever.
