Second Stop: Annapolis

Ram's Head in Annapolis was the venue for the second show in my triple-header weekend. After a nice dinner at the tavern there, we settled into our seats. Not front row, but second row of tables and I could see Bo just fine. There was this man who had a huge head that kept getting into my pictures, but aside from that, it was all good.

The atmosphere here was completely different than the night before in Sellersville. This was more of a bar atmosphere. Bo was stunning in his cowboy hat, jeans, and a beautiful striped shirt that Maisie and sjwBo gave him. There were lots of men in the audience, one who screamed for FREEBIRD, which led Bo to tell his story about playing in Huntsville at The Corner way back when to one drunk guy who always wanted him to play Freebird...on an acoustic guitar! LOL

He was quite chatty at this show and we all laughed at him telling his jackal story. Nope, there aren't any possums in Iraq! I put the story on youtube if you'd like to hear it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N1vYRiXKWI

The set list was almost identical to the one the night before with the exception of him adding American Blood and Take the Money and Run. Oh, the way he sang American Blood. He FEELS that song in his blood, bones, and soul. And so do we when he performs it.

We hung around afterwards for a very hurried meet and greet. God bless him, he is so willing to give time to us even when he really doesn't have it to give and is probably tired. I got my Christian Musician magazine signed. He started to tell me something about the man who wrote the article and then there was Don's hand on my shoulder, gently prodding me on. Wish I knew what he was going to say.

A bunch of us Peeps gathered afterward to have our picture made together and you know how when you're walking along and see somebody making pictures and you come to a dead stop to not be in their way? Well, that's what Bo did! He was walking through with Don and Patrick and he saw us there and screech! He put on the brakes! Like we would have cared if he was in our picture! Wish he could have been!

I enjoyed this show, but the venue wasn't my favorite. I guess it just bugs me when people talk all throughout Bo's set. I know musicians are used to it, but I'm not. I focus on Bo, not chattering with my friends. It's rude in my opinion!

Coming up next...last stop Wolf Trap!!
