The let us in and we walked past a bar on the left and tables on the right that were set up with food. We entered a two tier room that had a stage at one end. All the seats were taken on the first level, so we made our way to the top. We were invited to eat first, so we went and had plates of delicious barbecue, cole slaw, potato salad, fresh green beans, bags of potato chips and soft drinks or water. After lunch, I went and stood on the stairway by Debbie. No way was I sitting up there in the back!
Soon Bo was introduced to wild applause! He was so witty and funny and seemed so happy to have us there. He had Jimmy and Patrick Mitchell do a set. One of the songs they sang was Soulshine, one of my absolute favorite songs!
Bo then came back out and sang for us and had questions and answers. He was so cute answering the questions. And he is an expert at it! He introduced Gary Nichols and the place went crazy! We love us some Gary! They sang Ain't Gonna Die and Midnight Rider together, and the finale was For What it's Worth. Bo then had Caroline come up onstage and gave out door prizes. Then they made their big announcement...they are having another baby! The crowd errupted with cheering for them.
Bo told us he wasn't going to be in any hurry and he met with everyone. He had a table of items that were being auctioned for the Wounded Warriors. I bought a pretty print of a picture Bo had taken while on tour. It is of a yellow flower with a bee on it. I love it! What I really wanted was the canvas painting of the three crosses that he did, but I couldn't afford it. It STILL hurts my heart because I wanted it so badly. Oh well, the girl who got it will treasure it, I'm sure.
I was kind of at the front of the line to meet with Bo and he greeted me with a hug and I told him how much fun I was having. He said softly that we were going to have another party at Christmas! Yay! I don't know why he said it softly; he told some others about it, too! LOL, that's Bo, making you feel special! He signed my bowling picture and asked if I wanted it BoLisa or Lisa, and I said Lisa would be fine. We then had our picture taken and he squeezed me really tightly. Then he held my hands and talked to me for a little bit before it was somebody else's turn. He makes everyone feel like they're the only person in the room.
I stayed and watched everyone go through and talk to him. He laughed and hugged and kissed and thoroughly enjoyed himself. So did I, just watching his happiness. I talked to Caroline a couple of times at the party. She's a really sweet person and told me that the baby was due January 31.
Thank you, Mr. Bo Bice! You throw one heck of a party! I cannot wait until next time!
If you would like to hear a recording of the party, it is available from BandBox at http://www.bobice.com/ !
